So very excited. We made it to Bolivia.  Kelly is a little culture shocked.... but I already feel like it is home.  Please keep us in your prayers.

Leaving in the Morning

We are leaving in the morning for our "vision trip".  Please pray that we have a safe trip, get a lot done, and are also able to relax a little bit!

Although we are not leaving until this summer, we need to be fully supported BEFORE we leave.  It would be such a blessing to be at full support ASAP!

We are currently in the process of raising over $50,000 for our first year there!  This includes our start up budget (flights, visas etc.) and our monthly budget (rent, ministry expenses).  This is such a step of faith for us, but we truly believe that with YOUR support in our ministry GOD can make this happen!

Bolivia in April

We purchased our tickets to go to Bolivia the first week in April!  We are both very excited.  This will be a vision trip for Kelly!  I get to show him around Santa Cruz, and we will both get a better idea of what life will look like for us for the next few years.... at least.  We will hopefully be able to do and see as much as possible.  Spend some time at the school (SCCLC), spend some times at the boys and girls homes, be able to visit the church and the congregation that I was involved with, and many other things.

Please be praying for a safe, and effective trip!

More Prayer

We are preparing still to talk at The Alley this Sunday!

Please pray that:

• We will continue to listen for words from God while we prepare our presentation.
• The hearts of the people that will be at church will be softened towards are ministry in Bolivia and they will understand the need for it.
• Kelly and I calm down about this.

Busy Busy Busy - Ocupados

Kelly has a week off of work, so we are busy busy busy doing a lot of things in relation to Bolivia!  Please pray for us, for our motivation and our stress levels!

Colossians

Today I was reading in Colossians 3 - Taking a diversion from what I had been reading in Ephesians.  I had the privilege to attend two different church services yesterday, and in both messages verses from Colossians 3 was referenced.  I praise God for setting these verses on my heart!  They are very deep and show God's heart and desire for my life!  Kelly and I were able to pour into this passage for quite some time together!


We are praying for wisdom from Him, and His continuing revealing of his will for our lives!

The Alley

We will be speaking at both services on March 4th 2012 at The Alley in Cottage Grove (our church) about the ministry we will be engaging with in Bolivia.  Please be praying that God gives us the words to speak and that those who hear us will gain an understanding of the importance of doing God's work in Bolivia and have open hearts hear what we have to say!

We are still looking for donations for Kelly and I to get down to Bolivia the first week in April for a vision trip for Kelly.  It costs about $1300 per ticket plus visa fees.  Frankly, we cannot afford that right now are are looking for people to sponsor us, in prayer, encouragement, or maybe in a financial way (we cannot officially support raise through SAM for this trip).  


We are looking for Delta (to get to Miami) or American Airlines miles that may go unused anyway.  Let us know if you want more information on that.


We are praying that we are and will continue live only for HIS glory!  We pray that God will give us amazing wisdom as to how to make decisions together in the coming months.

Kiva Loan to Bolivia

We just loaned $25 to a lady who has a business selling potatoes in Bolivia.  We used an organization called Kiva.  It is a really cool program!  When we get paid back, we will be able to reinvest in someone else.  We specifically decided to donate to someone in Bolivia because that is where we feel called to serve right now and it is a way we can help someone there, while still here.

SAM is a go!

We are officially appointed by SAM (South America Mission)!  We will be leaving this summer following the plans God has for us right now!  I will be teaching kindergarten and Kelly will be doing youth ministry, church development, and computer outreach with the Bolivian people!  We are super excited!  Please continue to keep us in your prayers!

Getting Started

God sent Lydia to Bolivia on her own to plant a seed, a heart for missions in Bolivia.... little did I know that when I returned from Bolivia, the seed would be planted right into Kelly's heart as well!


We are getting started, but things will start to go quick!  We are planning on starting our support raising campaign very soon!  Please be praying about how you can support us on this long term ministry.


Timeline?  We are looking at leaving in the middle of the Summer 2012!  Right now we are looking to make a 3 year commitment.  How exciting no ve (right)?
